Your view: The gift of life

When the City of Sikeston hosts a blood drive -we know it will be extraordinary!

It was so encouraging to see so many city officials come out and roll up their sleeves at our Community Blood Drive on July 18th at the Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church. Once again an appeal was made and you responded! Because of your compassion to save lives we exceeded our goal which is the first time in many months! Sikeston people have proved over and over they will sacrifice time and their very life-line to save someone else by giving their the "most precious part of themselves."

The need for blood is ongoing and we so appreciate the donors who faithfully give at every blood drive-we welcome your generous spirit.

If you have never given blood we challenge you to try it - you will never know the feeling you will receive just knowing that you have saved up to three lives, just by sharing a little of yours. You never whose life you save but you are a hero, one they will never forget.

You can't give blood and you would still like to serve, please consider donating your time as a volunteer. You can do that by calling 472-1565.

Thank you for joining us in our mission to save lives-because it is our passion that each one deserves our utmost commitment, because one day that commitment may just be for you!

God Bless,
