NEW MADRID -- Larry "Summertime" Sumner, 51, died Nov. 4, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Oct. 30, 1954, in New Madrid County, son of the late Earl and Beulah Sumner.

On Oct. 27, 1995, in New Madrid, he married Christina Jenkins who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: three sons, George Lance Sr. of Marston, Johnny Lance of Sikeston and Willard Lance of Michigan; one brother, Milford Sumner of St. Louis; and six sisters, Avanell Attaway of Dyersburg, Tenn., Margaret Lott of New Madrid, Patricia Hodge of Waverly, Tenn., Martha Bell Robinson of Sikeston, Brenda Cook of Portageville and April Coffman of Cedar Grove, Tenn.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Sumner; one sister, Sandra Sumner; and one grandson, Jeremy Lance.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. The Rev. Orvil McKinney officiated.

Burial followed at Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.
