Samuel Hickman

EAST PRAIRIE - Samuel C. Hickman, 83, died at 8 a.m. Nov. 5, 2007, at his home.

Born July 22, 1924, in Hohenwald, Tenn., to the late Clayggett and Annie Johnson Hickman, he lived most of his life in East Prairie. He worked at the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Frances Hickman of Matthews; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gene Grimmel of Avon Park, Fla. and Sharon and Danny Lafferty of East Prairie; and 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

One daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Frank Bone; one brother, one sister and one grandson preceded him in death.

Visitation is at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Robert Goins and Mark Goins officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Tim Bone, Ryan Bone, Mark Goins, Jarred Jones, Eric Ashcraft and Darren Perry.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Matt Bone, Brian Ellis and Klent Richardson.
