DEXTER - Woodrow "Woody" Horton, 88, died May 2, 2006, in the Cypress Point Healthcare at Dexter.

Born July 25, 1917, at Lamar, Ark., son of the late Warren and Ruth Ann Overby Horton, he was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II, and of the Methodist faith. He and his wife were the former owners of Faye's Bakery in Dexter for 42 years.

On March 9, 1940, at Springdale, Ark., he was united in marriage to Ida Faye Clark who preceded him in death on April 23, 1996.

One brother, John Horton also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Wilson Horton and Tommy Horton of Dexter; one daughter, Glenda Medlock of Charleston; and four grandchildren, four great-

grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Dr. Vyron Yount will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
