Jena Hopwood

SIKESTON - Jena Faye Hopwood, 80, died Jan. 29, 2006, at Sells Nursing Home in Matthews.

Born Feb. 24, 1925, in Randolph County, Ark., to the late George and Belle Swindle Green, she was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and taught in the Ripley County School system for six years. She then moved to Sikeston, where she was a registered record administrator supervisor in the Medical Records Department at Missouri Delta Medical Center for 37 years.

On April 28, 1948, in Springfield, Ill., she married Kenneth Lee Hopwood, who survives of the home.

One niece, Donna Green Morris of Sikeston, also survives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, with graveside rites to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Doniphan City Cemetery, with Bob Bullock officiating.
