Euleta Shaffar

BALLWIN - Euleta M. Shaffar, 81, formerly of Sikeston, died at 8:05 a.m. Feb. 6, 2006, at her home.

Born Oct. 10, 1924, in Atkins, Ark., to the late C. Dewey and Bertha A. Cossey Savage, she was a housewife and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She had been an officer in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and worked in the 1950s at the Missouri State Capitol Building.

On June 13, 1946, in Osceola, Ark., she married Paul Leonard Shaffar, who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1989.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Judy Shaffar of Wildwood and Geoffrey and Donna Shaffar of Benton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Bill Hoye of Ballwin and Judy and Mark O'Mara of St. Charles; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Hank and Olene Savage of Jackson, Ga., Clarence "Ed" and Gloria Savage of Millington, Tenn., and Don and Lynda Savage of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Pat Quinn, acting associate pastor of St. Francis Xavier, officiating.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
