Dirnberger is elected president of recorder group

BENTON -- Scott County's recorder is the new president of the Recorders Association of Missouri.

Tom Dirnberger, recorder of deeds for Scott County, was elected for a two-

year term as the association's president during the annual recorders' conference in Columbia April 28.

"I think it's great that someone in this area gets to serve as president for a statewide organization," Dirnberger said.

Prior to this appointment, Dirnberger served three years as vice president of the Recorders Association of Missouri and before that served as the association's secretary.

Dirnberger said he was elected to officer positions in the association in the past in part due to his participation in implementing the statewide standardization of recorders' documents that went into effect in 2002.

Dirnberger also remains on the association's legislative and technology committees.

The technology committee recently set up a statewide portal so documents can be electronically submitted to recorder offices, Dirnberger said.

As president of the Recorders Association of Missouri, Dirnberger will also serve on the board of directors of the Missouri Association of Counties.

"I think it will be a great experience to serve on that board as well," he said.

Dirnberger first took office as the recorder of deeds for Scott County in 1995 and is currently unopposed in his bid for another term in office.
