Lena Hampton

NEW MADRID - Lena Edna Hart Hampton, 91, died Dec. 21, 2007, at her home.

Born Feb. 4, 1916, in New Madrid County, to the late Willa Pearl and John Thomas Hart, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Choir.

She was married to James D. Hampton, who preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1964.

One brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James K. and Kathleen Hampton of New Madrid; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bobby Daniels of Farrenburg; one sister, Mary Meier of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Bess Konersmann and husband, Scott of Seattle, Wash., Matt Hampton of Washington, D.C. and Jason Daniels of Farrenburg; and one great-grandson, Justin Konersmann of Seattle.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. tonight, with a Rosary to be said at 6:30 p.m., at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating.
