Risco defeats Cooter 78-64
COOTER - The Risco Tigers basketball team notched a road Tri-County Conference victory over the host Cooter Wildcats on Tuesday night, 78-64.
Risco was without the services of head coach Brandon Blankenship, who missed the game due to the birth of his first child.
The Tigers put away Cooter with a 25-11 scoring advantage in the second quarter. At the half, Risco led 47-27.
In the second half, Risco continued to enjoy a 20-point advantage over the host Wildcats. Balanced scoring led Risco kept Cooter off-balanced and the Tigers were up 61-41 heading into the final quarter.
Risco put in many reserves in the fourth quarter and managed a 78-64 victory over Cooter.
Brice Earnheart led the Tigers with 18 points. Andrew Halford scored 16 points and Levi Newsom chipped in 12 points for Risco.
Ricky Davis had eight points and Rodulfo Johnson settled for seven points for the Tigers.
Risco (5-8) will travel to Holcomb on Friday night and play the Hornets in a Tri-County Conference matchup. Junior varsity contest is set to tip at 6 p.m.
