Chiropractor trades free visit for food donation

Sunday, November 18, 2007

SIKESTON -- A first-time visit to the chiropractor can be free with the donation of canned goods.

During this month, Leslie Winchester of Winchester Chiropractic and Wellness will offer a free first visit with a donation of five or more canned goods. The food items will then be donated to the Bootheel Food Bank.

"Our goal with this event is to bring awareness of the benefits of chiropractic care to new patients and to fill the pantry at the Bootheel Food Bank," Winchester said is a news release. "Many people don't make their health a priority during the holiday season and this will give them an opportunity to give and receive."

The appointment will include a consultation, exams and X-rays (if needed) at no charge, which Winchester estimated to have a $200 value.

Winchester Chiropractic and Wellness is located at 918 S. Kingshighway. It has been in Sikeston for five years and offers a variety of natural healing methods including chiropractic, acupuncture and whole food supplements.

The Bootheel Food Bank, founded in 1985, distributes food in 16 counties. It is located on Keystone Drive in Sikeston. Those interested in donating can drop off donations of canned goods or other non-perishable items at either location. To make an appointment, or for more information, contact Winchester Chiropractic and Wellness at 471-1833.
