ORAN -- Myrtle Spooler, 95, died at 8 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 20, 1912, in Oran, to the late Charles Robert and Minnie Louis Hency Mansell, she was a homemaker and member of the Oran First Baptist Church, where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher.

On Feb. 18, 1936, in Oran, she married John Spooler, who died Aug. 16, 1998. Two daughters, three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Surviving are: one son, Jim Spooler of Chaffee; and five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating.

Burial followed in the Guardian Angel Catholic Church Cemetery in Oran.
