PORTAGEVILLE - Mildred Young, 101, died June 14, 2007, at Portageville Nursing Center.

Born June 24, 1905, in Portageville, the daughter of Thomas and Mattie Atwill Baker, she was a retired school teacher, had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Portageville since May 19, 1940, and was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star.

On May 23, 1929, she married Harold Young who preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1972.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Evans Baker; and three sisters, Edna Teroy, Ursula Simer and Rubye Holley.

Survivors include: four nephews Gary Baker of Portageville, John Young of Ft. Myers, Fla., Don Bell of Alton, Ill., and Larry Bell of Cape Girardeau; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. until time for services at 2 p.m. Saturday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The Rev. Dr. Buck Morton will officiate. Burial will follow at the Portageville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Robert Reynolds, Tyler Reynolds, Gene Stevens, Louis Daughtery, Louis Daughtery and Dusty Grooms.
