Nearly all the activities surrounding the Sikeston Jaycees annual rodeo came to a conclusion Saturday. Despite the unusually hot weather, fans turned out to support the four days of rodeo action and entertainment. Also this year's CowboyUp! Arts Festival drew lots of interest with expanded events at the Depot and Historic Downtown Sikeston. Above: Corey Walls, a protection man for the bull riders, attempts to draw the bull away from a downed cowboy. Right:?Raiya Thomure, 7, who is visiting Sikeston from San Francisco, found a chicken to hold at the petting zoo which was part of the CowboyUp! Arts Festival. Pictured behind her is her sister Yasmina, 9. Today is the final day of the Quilt Show at the Clinton Building at the Sikeston Recreation Complex. The show is slated from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Admission to the show is $1 with proceeds from the event to benefit local charities.
