Charles Triplett

DEXTER - Charles Lloyd Triplett, died July 5, 2007, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 4, 1926, in Grayridge, son of the late John and Lelia Tucker Triplett, he was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Dexter. A 23-year retired U.S. Army veteran, serving active duty in World War II, Vietnam and the Korean Wars, he was a member and past commander at the American Legion in Dexter, a member of the Military Officer Association and Uniformed Services. He was a former employee of Puralator in Dexter and Federal Mogal in Malden.

On July 7, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., he married Norma Jeanne Holder, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Steven L. Triplett of Tampa, Fla., and Michael J. Triplett of Dexter; three daughters, Charlett J. Glover of Franklin, Tenn. and Sheryl L. Fowler and Janet L. Moore both of Dexter; one sister, Naomi Negron of Sikeston; and 11 eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, M. Norman Triplett, Howard E. Triplett and James Q. Triplett; and two sisters, Thelma L. Moss and Lillas G. Heacox.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Rainey- Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Dr. Curtis Porter officiating. Burial will follow at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter.
