Goldie Hefner

DEXTER -- Goldie Marie Hefner, 89, died July 31, 2008, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.

Born Dec. 29, 1918, in McGee, to the late William S. and Bessie Steward Barks, she had lived in the McGee and Puxico areas all her life.

She married Milford Hendrix who preceded her in death. She later married Orville Hefner who also preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman Barks, Joe Barks and Eli Barks; and one sister, Berta Lee Barks.

Survivors include: two brothers, Ivan Barks of Cahokia, Ill., and Lloyd Barks of Puxico; and three sisters, Mary Johnson of Watson, Okla., and Irene Hendrix and Bernice Adams of Puxico.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Fagan Cemetery.
