Dexter volleyball remains unbeaten with two set victory

ORAN -- The Oran Lady Eagles had no problems scoring runs in their game against the Jackson Lady Indians junior varsity squad as they came away with a 16-2 win.

The Lady Eagles scored 12 runs in the first two innings while allowing only two Jackson runs to score in the first inning.

Oran (5-2) has led by Taylor Tenkhoff at the dish with four hits and four runs including a double. Rachel Moore added three hits and drove in four RBIs. Lexi Cummins and Taylor Irwin each had two hits and two RBIs a piece while Amanda Williams connected for two doubles and one RBI.

Courtney Scheeter was the winner inside the circle for Oran. She pitched all five innings allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out two.

Dexter 2, Cape Central 0

DEXTER -- The Dexter Lady Bearcats (4-0) (1-0) volleyball team continued their unbeaten streak against the Cape Central Lady Tigers on Tuesday night defeating them in two games 25-12 and 25-22.

"I am proud of tonight's win with Cape Central," Dexter head coach Kristen Vandeven. "However, we definitely have some things to work on before the weekend tournament at SEMO. We've been a little hesitant on the court during these first four matches, so it will be nice to have our full team back healthy again."

Jessica Satterfield led the Dexter charge with nine kills, one ace, one block and seven assists. Cathryn Heil had seven kills, one ace, four digs, two blocks and seven assists while Elisha Flanigan added four kills, three aces and three digs.

The Dexter junior varsity also came away with a win, continuing their four game winning streak as well.
