BENTON -- A tip received by a deputy with the Scott County Sheriff's Department led to the recovery of several stolen items.

On Friday, Dep. Jeremy Perrien followed up on information he received earlier in the day by investigating a Sikeston residence, according to a news release by Sheriff Rick Walter.

During this investigation officials recovered three large metal forks, three alternators, several large pieces of steel pipe and other items which matched descriptions of items reported stolen from a salvage yard in Haywood City. Also reported stolen and recovered in the back yard of the residence was a motor.

"The detailed description given by the owner was significant in the identification of the recovered items," Walter said.

As of press time, names were being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
