CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Gladys B. Brown, 95, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died at 10:57 a.m. Oct. 25, 2008, at the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.

Born Jan. 16, 1913, in the Barnes Ridge Community near East Prairie to the late Joseph Burris and Mary Perneitha Lindley Bard, she lived most of her life in East Prairie and was a member of the Church of Christ.

On Jan. 28, 1931, at Charleston, Mo., she married Wallace Brown who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 2002.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Sonny Bard, Marvin Bard, Carl Bard, Ike Bard and Jack Bard; and two sisters, Fostine Fugate and Loleta "Tootsie" Wing.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Barbara Brown of Clarksville, Ted and Carole Brown of East Prairie and Stan and Linda Brown of Gainesville, Ga.; six sisters, Frankie Pulhamus, Bernita Hopkins, Barbara Cohen and Mary Gabler of Glen Carbon, Ill., Patsy Givens of Burnsville, Minn., and Sue Broussard of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Mackie Gene Bard of Glen Carbon; and eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Aubrey Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
