Charles Rogers
LOWNDES -- Charles Jerome Rogers, 68, died Oct. 31, 2008, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 13, 1940, in Esty, Mich., to the late Charles E. and Romaine Goodrich Rogers, he moved to Southeast Missouri in 1944 and had lived most of his life in Stoddard and Wayne counties. He was a member of the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes.
On Sept. 5, 1970, in Dexter, he married Patsy Jones who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Edwin Rogers of San Angelo, Texas and Travis Rogers, Shane Rogers and Donald Rogers of Lowndes; seven daughters, Tressa Winkler of Hillsboro, Tammy Whitaker of Lonedell, Tammy Cox and Rebecca Hicks of Lowndes, Heather Fischer of St. Peters and Holly Rogers and Monica Rogers of Poplar Bluff; five sisters, Phyllis Walk of McGee, Carol Jones of Puxico, Sharon Baker of Doe Run, Peggy McAtee of Advance and Vicky Turner of Lowndes; and 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Russell Wayne Rogers; and one brother, Ronald Rogers.
Services were held on Sunday at the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes with Jack Rogers of Lowndes and Dale Rogers of Dexter officiating.
Burial followed in the Community Church of Christ Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Edwin Rogers, Travis Rogers, Shane Rogers, Donald Rogers, Paul Cox, Melvin Hicks, Jeff Fischer and Robert Parks.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico was in charge of arrangements.
