CHARLESTON -- Junior E. Harris, 84, died at 7:20 p.m. Nov. 13, 2008, at the Charleston Manor.

Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Bertrand, to the late Estel Monroe and Florence Kitty Haley Harris, he had lived in Mississippi County his entire life where he attended the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston. He was employed in farming and also worked in construction as a carpenter until his retirement in 1980. He was involved in the construction of the Charleston Manor, where he later worked as maintenance supervisor for nine years.

On Dec. 31, 1958, he married Ann Rodgers who survives of the home.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lisa Harris and Danny and Linda Harris of Charleston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dottie and Bobbie McKenzie and Brenda and Brian Bickford of Charleston; one sister, Nina Heppe of Charleston; and six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

One son, Samuel Page "Sammy" Harris; five brothers, Joe Harris, John Harris, James Harris, Jewell Harris and Jesse Harris; and three sisters, Frances Evans, Irene Harris and Lorene Harris preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Bickford, Bobby McKenzie, Samuel Harris, Stanley Harris, Keith Bickford and Greg Heppe.
