Nov. 18, 1948

SIKESTON - Dale Alcorn, Joe Fabick and C.D. Springs left by plane Wednesday afternoon for Waterbury, S.D., where they will spend several days pheasant hunting.

CHARLESTON - A daughter weighing 7 pounds, 13 ounces, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Millhouse of Charleston Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Nov. 18, 1968

SIKESTON - Sikeston, Cape Girardeau and Perryville, co-champions of the northern division of the southeast Missouri Football Conference, dominated All-Conference selections this season. Cape and Perryville each landed 12 spots while the Bulldogs took 10 positions.

Nov. 18, 1988

SIKESTON - A trained parrot was one of the feature acts in "Aladdin's Magic Wish," presented Monday at the old Middle School gymnasium on Tanner Street. The two performances were sponsored by the Sikeston Arts and Education Council.

SIKESTON - Beth Gaines read to her first grade class at Matthews Elementary School on Monday about forms of communication during the pioneer days. This week area schools are commemorating National Education Week.

SIKESTON - With only 38 days left until Christmas, Kenny Johnson helped a friend on Kennedy get a head start on putting up a festive display. He said it would take around 15 hours to set the scene.

DEXTER - The Dexter Police Department reported the theft of a white 1982 Pontiac Firebird, two door, which was taken from the rear of Thurston Auto Parts. The vehicle had been parked at the business for several week and was in poor condition with the windows broken out, engine parts missing and all tires flat when it was stolen.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston District Bowling Association recently held a drawing for a $250 Wal-Mart gift certificate. The winner was Melissa Gotthardt.
