CHARLESTON - The Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will be held tonight. A treasure hunt is also scheduled according to Frank Bihr, chairman of the committee.

SIKESTON - Owner Barbara Rush conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for her Beauty Boutique, 832 Linn St. on Tuesday morning. Among those at the ceremony were Bob Blankenship, Dorothy Lee, Tom Rush, Barbara Rush, Robin Hough, Monica May and Pat Marble.

SIKESTON - Sikeston runners in the St. Louis Marathon were Mike Chegnidden, Troy Hodge, Wendell Sanders and John Hodge.

CHARLESTON - The Charleston Lady Blue Jays ran into a buzz saw known as the Poplar Bluff Lady Mules on Monday. Poplar Bluff ran past the host Lady Blue Jays 56-28.

SIKESTON - At Monday's meeting, the Sikeston City Council approved the bid of $62,190 from Sikeston Motor Company for the purchase of three new patrol vehicles for the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. Public Safety Director James W. Leist said that the Ford Crown Victorias are the only cars manufactured that have rear wheel drive and a police package.
