Valerie Dockery

POPLAR BLUFF -- Valerie Denise Dockery, 40, died Jan. 3, 2009, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital.

Born May 24, 1968, in Dexter, to Martha Cook Simon of Parma and the late G.L. Jones,, she had lived in the Poplar Bluff area most of her life and was of the Baptist belief.

In 1989, at New Madrid, she married Randy Dockery.

In addition to her mother, survivors include: three sons, Isaiah Cook, Cameron Cook and Quinton Cook of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Krystal Dockery and Whitney Cook of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Leroy Cook of the state of Indiana and Elbert Cook of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Louraine Mallory of Steele and Emma Johnson of Malden; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Thursday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Moses Grayson of Essex officiating.

Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
