Quincy Nelson separates the dirt and debris surrounding his worms during summer school classes which started Monday for students in the Sikeston R-6 School District. At Lee Hunter Elementary School, teacher Carol Bruce offered students an introduction into conservation science by letting them take a closer look at the soil. Among the creatures to intrigue students were the worms they found along with ants and beetles in the pieces of decaying wood, dirt and leaves. Sikeston summer school classes are scheduled to continue through June 26.
