SIKESTON-- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs came close in their season opener, but fell just short to the Bernie Lady Mules 16-25, 26-24, 25-22, in a three-set barn burner Tuesday in Sikeston.

Sikeston (0-1) came out of the gates strong Tuesday, taking a 7-6 lead early in the first set and never surrendered that edge in route to a 25-16 route in the set.
