Blissett named top offensive player

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Sikeston girls soccer team finished up their best season in school history with a second place finish in districts and know the Lady Bulldogs are racking in individual honors as well.

Sikeston sophomore Keyonna Blissett was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year in the Class 2 Southeast Region while being named to the All-Region team. Blissett, a forward and Sikeston's top goal scorer, was also named to the SEMO All-Conference First Team.

Fellow sophomore Kelsey Jenkins and senior Emily Eaves were also named to the SEMO All-Conference First Team. Jenkins was a defender for the Lady Bulldogs while Eaves, a midfielder, was one of two seniors on the team.

Eaves and Jenkins were both named to the All-Region honorable mention squad as well while freshman forward Madison Chaney was named SEMO Conference honorable mention.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the season with a 15-8 record. The complete All-Region and All-Conference teams can be found in today's scoreboard on page 4B.
