Progress being made on water supply hookups

Friday, October 8, 2010

BENTON -- A lot of progress is being made on the Scott County Public Water Supply District No. 4, and the first hookups should be made within week.

On Thursday, Tim McIntyre, system manager, met with county commissioners to give an update on the project. In May, it hit a snag when the contractor was terminated, but a new company is now on board and and getting things moving.

McIntyre said it appears the Kelly School District should have water next week, and Scott County Central within the next two weeks.

"We're really excited to see this starting up again," said Commissioner Dennis Ziegenhorn. He also noted that everyone involved in the project is pleased with the patience of customers through the snags.
