EAST PRAIRIE -- Recycling is good, but making a mess near the recycling trailer can result in the end of a good thing.

Mississippi County Commissioner Steve Jones is looking for a convenient location in East Prairie for the Stoddard County Sheltered Workshop's recycling bin -- again.

The Sheltered Workshop came and hauled their recycling trailer off the McDonald's Food Mart lot in East Prairie Thursday as requested by the store's owner, Duke McDonald.

"It was becoming a problem because we would have to call them every week to empty it or bring an empty trailer then it would take them a few days to another week for them to show up," said a spokesperson at the store who asked to remain anonymous. "It would get so full, people would leave stuff on the ground. It was getting really bad."

Jones previously had to find a new place for the bin in the summer of 2009 when supervisors at the Town and Country Supermarket in East Prairie asked that the recycling trailer be moved off their lot for the very same reason.
