PUXICO -- Dale Tolbert, 83, died Dec. 13, 2011, at the Missouri State Veterans Home in St. Louis.

Born April 19, 1928, in Bloomfield, to the late Orbe and Minnie Mae Malone, he lived in St. Louis for many years where he worked for Carter Carburetor. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Puxico where they lived for several years. He attended the Baptist Church in Puxico and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

On Oct. 22, 1984, in Poplar Bluff, he married Lilly Pearl Adams, and she preceded him in death in 2008.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frona Pruitt and Cleta Rickert.

He is survived by one brother, Sonny Tolbert of O'Fallon; and one sister, Wyona Snider of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Friday at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Gene Lancaster of Risco officiating.

Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
