CHAFFEE -- Guy W. Bunyard, 90, died Dec. 19, 2011, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

Born May 2, 1921, in Piedmont, to the late Lyman and Ella Collins Bunyard, he worked on the Frisco Railroad in Memphis, Tenn., as a car man and then retired from Beachnut Company in Amsterdam, N.Y. After retiring from Beachnut, he moved to Mt. Vernon and then in 1992 to Chaffee where he was a member of The First Baptist Church and the Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810.

On Jan. 16, 1943, he married Theda Mae Jones who preceded him in death on April 29, 1992.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters and a granddaughter, Ashley Rogers.

Survivors include: a longtime companion, Phyllis Hamm of Chaffee, and her children, Steve Rogers of New Madrid, Larry Rogers of Seattle and Janie Fowler of Chaffee, and her grandchildren. Amy Branson of Linn, Molly Fowler of Boston and Kori Grossheider of Little Rock, Ark.

Visitation is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Matthew Butrum will officiate.

Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
