Johnny Jones

EAST PRAIRIE -- Johnny C. Jones, 62, died at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 18, 2012, at the Clearview Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 20, 1949, in Wolf Island, to the late J.T. "Bud" and Margie Marie George Jones, he lived in Mississippi County most of his life and worked at the Sikeston Walmart for the past several years. He attended the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.

On Jan. 27, 1993, he married Elizabeth Ann Jones, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his former wife, Nelda Jones of Charleston; one son, John Paul Jones of Farmington; one daughter and son-in-law, Dottie Hamilton and Darwin Craig of Charleston; one brother, Tracey Jones of East Prairie; two sisters, Ruth Noonan of Bertrand and Ann Dalke of Sikeston; two grandchildren; and two special friends, Beth Woerner and Bobby Sorenson, both of East Prairie.

Besides his parents, one brother, Freddy Glen Jones, preceded him in death.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday with Dewayne Kirkpatrick officiating.

Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Tjay Haynes, Isaac Quick, Jeremiah Quick, Jason Patt, Bobby Sorenson and Roy Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Paul Aters, Chuck Harwell and Larry Coffer.
