BLOOMFIELD -- Jerry Busby, 66, died March 18, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 17, 1946, in Bunny, Ark., to the late J.B. Franklin Busby and Ruth Mary Busby, he retired after 33 years as a maintenance technician for Arvin Automotive, now known as Faurecia Emissions Technologies, in Dexter. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Bible Tabernacle Church in Bloomfield where he served on the church board.

On Nov. 30, 2004, at Piggott, Ark., he married Paula Helderman who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Alan Busby of Bernie and Joseph Busby of Cape Girardeau; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carrie Anne and Randy Elles of Bernie and Kimberly Busby of Benton; one stepdaughter, Kim Maddox of Jackson; one brother, Randy Busby of Oswego, Ill.; three sisters, Patricia Steele, Maydene Jaquith and Bonnie Bolin of St. Charles, Ill.; and six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death two brothers, Rick Busby and Terry Busby, and one sister, Mary Alice Busby.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Revs. Dudley Hamilton and Calvin Bolin officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
