Bertha Mooney

BERNIE -- Bertha Mooney, 83, died March 31, 2012, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born July 29, 1928, in Clinton, Ark., to the late Tom and Myrtle Lee Burns Whitworth, she had worked as a cook on river barges and was of the Pentecostal belief.

Survivors include: one son, Edward Thomas Mooney of St. Charles; one daughter, Deborah Barnes of Bernie; two sisters, Irene Dugan and Edna Wallace of Parma; one brother, Pete Whitworth of the state of Illinois; and three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Opal Whitworth, Porter Whitworth and Chestell Whitworth.

Services were conducted today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Burial followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
