Lionell Brown

EAST PRAIRIE -- Lionell Brown, 58, died May 9, 2012, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 10, 1954, in East Prairie, to William Raymond and Mildred Lee Priest Brown, he lived most of his life in East Prairie and was employed by Gates Rubber Company in Charleston.

On Oct. 26, 1979, he married Shirley "Snookie" Grogan, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin Eric and Leslie Michelle Brown of East Prairie; one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and J.R. Benson of East Prairie; and two grandchildren Riley Cole Brown and Lucas Eric Brown.

Three brothers, William Lee Brown, Raymond Brown and Larry Gene Brown, preceded him in death.

Visitation is scheduled after 5 pm today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with Mike Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Brent Williams, Brian Carden, Chad Thomas, Martin Carlyle, Eric Thomure and Howard Williams Jr.
