DEXTER -- Iva Celeste Holden, 82, died June 26, 2012, at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Home in Dexter.

Born Sept. 10, 1929, in Rombauer, daughter of the late Hershell M. Yates and Geneva Mondy Yates, she attended the First Baptist Church in Dexter. S

On Sept. 19, 1946, in Pocahontas, Ark., she married Verlin Dempsey "Demp" Holden, who preceded her in death on March 27, 2012.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Yates, John Yates and Earnie Yates; and three sisters, Helen Brackney, Alberta Hamm and Verla Clark.

Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bill Holden, Stephen W. and Mary Kay Holden and Timothy Ray and Julie Holden, all of Dexter; two daughters and sons-in-law, Geneva Diane and David Garrett of San Antonio, Texas, and Terri Rene and Robert Morgan of Dexter; and 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
