Squirrels fall in second round of regional

MONTROSE, Co. -- The Charleston Fighting Squirrels suffered their first loss of this year's Midwest Plains Regional Tournament on Thursday, 8-6, at the hands of host Montrose, Colo.

The loss drops Charleston into the loser's bracket of the tournament where they play Eastview, Minn. this morning at 10 a.m.

If the Squirrels pull out a win there, they'll go on to play agains at 7 p.m. against the winner of Columbus, Kan./Bismark, N.D.

Charleston now needs to win five straight games to advance to the World Series.
