BLOOMFIELD -- Monroe Statler, 90, died Jan. 12, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Bloomfield.

Born Jan. 11, 1923, in Catron, son of the late Louis Statler and Annie Mae Robinson Statler, he was a retired car salesman.

On April 14, 1951, at Piggott, Ark., he married Geneva McAnelly, who survives of the home in Bloomfield.

Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donnie Statler of Paducah, Ky., and Kenneth and Renay Statler of Bloomfield; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Clara and Lonnie Ellis of Jacksonville, Ark., Ella and Dearl Johnson of Dexter and Belinda Jones of Bloomfield; and 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William Gail Statler; one daughter, Linda Stoker; one brother, Loy Russell; and three sisters, Ora Kirkpatrick, Zola Kirkpatrick and Stella Jaco.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Roger Wooten officiating.

Burial will follow in the Triplett Cemetery.
